Aujourd’hui, en souvenir de la déclaration de Robert Schuman  qui se prononçait le 9 mai 1950 pour une Union en Europe capable de préserver la paix, nous fêtons l’Europe.

 

 J’en profite pour partager avec vous un article que j’ai rédigé, en anglais, sur les conséquences au niveau européen de l’élection de François Hollande, publié ce 10 mai
 
" Hollande must now find German solution before Ireland votes

BY choosing a new president, French voters have opted for a fundamental change of social and economic policies.

They preferred Francois Hollande’s 60 initiatives to boost growth in the economy to Nicolas Sarkozy’s failed austerity programme.

From the start of his campaign, the president-elect focused on the need for stronger economic growth to sustain his ambitions in terms of education and job creation.

Since no European Union country can face the financial crisis on its own, Francois Hollande believes that we need strong European institutions to help those who are currently suffering most: Greece, Spain, Portugal and Ireland"
